Book Title: Love from Paris

Author: Alexandra Potter

Pages: 360

Blurb: When new boyfriend Jack stands her up at the airport, Ruby Miller dries her tears, jumps on the Eurostar and heads to Paris. She thinks she’s going there to visit an old friend and have a total break from romance. But the city of love has other ideas.

A locked apartment where time has stood still, a bundle of long lasting love letters and a flirtatious French lawyer sweep Ruby into a mystery that spans three0quarters of a century. Who is the author of the letter? Why did the owner of the apartment close up the shutters and flee Paris before the war? And what secret was she hiding?

As the mystery deepens, Ruby turns love detective but it’s not long before the ghosts of the past throw her own love affair into jeopardy.

Review for both books: Alexandra Potter is one of my favourite authors and I have and love all her books. These are her latest and so far a two part series although you can also read them as stand alone novels.

Ruby Miller is a great character, loveable, funny, and smart. She is someone who could be you or me. Someone to relate to.

This story is full of mystery, adventure, surprise and love. The idea of the story captured me. Someone who goes around solving the mystery of love.

The first book The Love Detective is based in India. Alexandra’s writing makes it sound so magical and romantic. India is not somewhere I have wanted to go to but now I do. The story is about Ruby getting over love to find true love with a little magical help from the amazing landscapes and people in India.

The second book Love from Paris is my favourite of the two due to the mystery that is part of the story. Letters found and they tell one half of a love story in a romantic setting kept exactly the same as when the love started in the past. Through solving the mystery and reuniting family, Ruby gains a new understanding of love which in turn helps her romance out.

These a two stories that are perfect for everyone who believes in love or who wants to believe again.
