Title: This Love
Author: Dani Atkins
Blurb: Sophie Winter lives in a self-imposed cocoon-she’s a single, thirty-one year old translator who works from home in her one bedroom flat. This isn’t really the life she dreamed of, but then Sophie stopped believing in happy endings a very long time ago, when she was fifteen years old and a tragedy struck her family. Her grief has left her scared of commitment and completely risk averse. Sophie understands she has a problem, but recognising it and knowing how to fix it are two entirely different things.
Until one night a series fire breaks out in the flat below hers, leaving her trapped. Her cocoon must be shattered-but what will be the consequences of this second life-changing event?
Review: Once I heard Dani Atkins had a new novel out I just knew I had to read it. On the day it was out, I brought a copy and started reading and I was not disappointed. This is another great story from Dani.
This story is one that everyone can relate to at some point in their lives. Feeling trapped and unable to move forward due to the past. Sophie has had some tragedies in her life and has protected herself from being hurt again. As another tragedy happens she meets someone who not only saves her life but helps her to change her live for the better.
Reading this book is like an emotional roller-coaster. It is so well written. Dani has a real talent where she can lead a reader to somewhere they hadn’t even realised they were heading too. You feel like you are sitting on the shoulder of the character going through every thought and emotion with them.
The best part of the book was the ending. Not because it had finished but they way it came to an end. It is one you might have thought about but by the time you got there it had gone out of your mind and when you found yourself there it was a surprise.
I recommend This Love to any one who likes a good romance but you defiantly need to remember to keep some tissues handy.
